Since the beginning of time, humans have lived in groups. we are genetically programed to be social. The need of making contact with others is always at the surface and we can’t deny it.

Why are ‘we’ humans, social animals ? No matter how much we try to avoid crowds and be alone or rather be a loner. The urge to just talk with another person starts boiling inside you…

many reasons make us the social animals we are. First there is that need of security which the group can provide, you are always safer with great numbers than alone.

In a second place, there is the psychological need. Approval is what most individuals look for in a crowd, we all want to be accepted, cherished and valued for who we are and what we do …

many concepts derive from this, like the notion of compliance and mass influence but that is for another time.

Whether we like it or not, we are wired that way !

Third, as living creatures we are bound by the laws of nature. Well reproduction is a natural phenomenon, and we can provide life without at least two beings, male and female. From here we can say that a group is at least composed of three individuals (1 male, 1 female, 1 child).

Finally, we can’t deny the fact that we share a collective consciousness, ideas, concepts of life and ways of acting, especially when other individuals are considered as mirrors of our own ‘self’. We see ourselves in others and round it goes.

To put it in a nutshell humans are social animals. Our social nature is unavoidable, we live for it and by it. But that doesn’t mean that we should be exact copies of each other, following the crowds blindly. Learn to take to better part of everything, and enjoy the road while growing into a fine individual in society.
